Delete your account, without asking us first.
Everything you put into arivāme can be taken back out of it. The fastest way is inside the app and takes about ten seconds; if you have already uninstalled it, write to us and we will do it for you.
In the app
Menu → Profile → Delete my account.
Open the menu from the top-left of any screen, tap Profile, and choose Delete my account at the bottom. You will be asked to confirm twice — after that it happens immediately, and it cannot be undone.
You do not need to write to us, wait for us, or give a reason. The app does the deletion itself.
By email
Already uninstalled it?
Write to info.kodavame@gmail.com from the email address you signed in with, and ask us to delete your arivāme account. We will do it within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done.
If you write from a different address we will have to ask you something only the account holder would know — not to be difficult, but because we are not willing to delete someone’s account on the word of a stranger.
What goes
- Your account itself — the name, email address and profile picture Google passed to us when you signed in.
- Everything you submitted to Creator's Corner, whether it was approved, still pending or rejected.
- Your comments, and the appreciations you gave and the ones you received.
- Any blocks you set, which are released in both directions.
What does not
Three things do not simply vanish, and we would rather say so here than let you find out afterwards.
Heritage assistant conversations
Questions you asked the assistant are unlinked from your account rather than deleted. What remains is the question and the answer, with nothing left on it that points back to you.
Backups
Backups take a short while to rotate out. Your data is gone from the live service the moment you delete it, and it leaves the backups as those are replaced on their normal schedule.
Moderation records
Where a record has to be kept for someone else’s safety — a report made against an account, for instance — it is kept in a form that no longer identifies you.
Saved words, lesson progress and your settings were never on our servers at all. They live on your phone and go when the app does.
Elsewhere
Deleting your arivāme account does not touch your Google account. If you would also like to withdraw arivāme’s access to it, that is done from Google, under Security → Your connections to third-party apps.
